White-label software

In a white-label arrangement, the vendor brings a product that already works; the customer brings the name, the visual identity, and the market relationship. Users interact with one brand and never need to know that a second company is behind the code. The vendor typically keeps building and often operating the software, while the licensee focuses on the audience it knows.

When it makes sense

White-labeling pays off when the software problem is already solved and the differentiation lives somewhere else: in the brand, the audience, or the local relationships.

• You want to launch under your own brand quickly, without funding months of custom development
• The features you need (payments, listings, ordering, notifications) are commodity, not your invention
• Your edge is distribution or trust in a community, not engineering
• You prefer a predictable license over hiring and managing a development team

When it does not

It is the wrong tool when your core product is the software itself. If your business model depends on features nobody else has, on unusual workflows, or on owning every line of code, a white-label product will always feel like a rented suit. It also fits poorly when you need deep integrations with proprietary internal systems that the vendor cannot reasonably support.

How Cazullo applies it

White-label is the center of Cazullo's model. The Cazullo Platform generates a complete branded product from one configuration: an iOS and Android app, a public website, and an admin panel, all under the customer's brand. Smart Menu follows the same logic for restaurants, as a licensable white-label product that runs under the restaurant's own identity. In both cases the software is licensed and operated by Cazullo, while the brand, the content, and the customer relationships belong to the licensee.
