Ads for roofing companies, measured in signed contracts

Roofing leads are expensive and the sale takes weeks. I run ads that bring inspections from homeowners who need a roof, track each one to the signed contract, and keep you inside the rules on insurance claims.

Where roofing companies lose ad money

Inspections that were never going to sign

Free inspection offers bring volume, and a lot of it is people with no damage, renters or homeowners collecting quotes for a claim. The ads and the form have to ask enough to separate a replacement from a curiosity.

A long sale with no follow-up

Inspection, estimate, adjuster meeting, financing, contract. Each step can take a week, and each one is a chance for the homeowner to go quiet or to sign with whoever called last.

Storm spikes everyone bids on

After a storm, searches and competition jump at the same time. A fixed monthly budget either runs out in two days or misses the week that matters. The budget has to move with the weather.

Insurance claim messaging that breaks the law

Florida regulates roofing ads that encourage people to contact you about an insurance claim. They need specific disclosures, and offering anything of value for an inspection or a claim is prohibited, with fines of up to $10,000 per violation.

What these searches cost on Google

Real searches from Google’s own Keyword Planner, across the United States. The bid range is what advertisers paid to appear at the top of the page: the lower number is the cheaper end of the market, the higher one is what the most aggressive competitors pay.

Replacement and repair searches cost about the same at the top of the page, but a replacement is worth many times more, so replacement terms deserve most of the budget. Cost searches like new roof cost are a quarter of the price and come from homeowners already doing the math. And roofing suppliers near me is a contractor buying shingles, not a homeowner: a search to exclude on day one.

What works for roofing companies

Local Services Ads

Roofers can earn the Google Guaranteed badge and pay per lead. Reviews and response time weigh heavily on your position.

Search for repair and replacement

Separate ads for leaks and repairs, which are urgent, and for replacement, which is planned and worth far more. Each one goes to its own page.

Meta for replacement

Homeowners with an aging roof are reachable before the leak, with your work, your warranty and financing when you offer it.

Reminders through a long decision

People who requested an estimate and went quiet see your company again in the weeks it takes to decide, not forever.

Rules to know

In Florida, section 489.147 of the statutes covers roofing ads about insurance claims. An ad that encourages people to contact you about a roof damage claim must state, in large enough type, that the homeowner is responsible for the deductible and that waiving deductibles or filing false claims are felonies. Gifts, gift cards, cash or deductible waivers in exchange for an inspection or a claim are not allowed, and only licensed public adjusters can advise on coverage. I write ads that stay inside these rules.

Florida also requires your license number in advertising (section 489.119). On Meta, roof repair ads fall under the housing special ad category, and ads that promote financing fall under financial products and services. Both remove targeting by age, gender and ZIP code and require a radius of at least 15 miles.

A year of ads for roofing companies

  1. January to March

Replacement planning season. Meta and search for replacements with financing, and follow-up of last year’s estimates that never closed.

  2. April to May

Spring storms and pre-hurricane season inspections. Make sure the ads, the inspection form and the follow-up are ready for a surge.

  3. June to November

Atlantic hurricane season. Keep a reserve budget for the days after a storm, and keep the ads inside Florida’s rules on insurance claims.

  4. December

Lower budget, follow-up on open estimates and reviews requested from every finished job of the year.

Budget and price

Roofing usually starts at $1,500 a month or more on Google, with room to grow after a storm. Meta can start at $1,000 for replacement offers.

Setup checklist

  • Local Services Ads verified, with reviews requested after every job
  • Separate campaigns for repair and leak calls and for full replacements
  • An inspection form that asks roof age and visible damage
  • Florida disclosures on any ad or page that mentions insurance claims
  • License number in the ads and on the landing page
  • Signed contracts sent back to Google, within its 90-day window

Mistakes that cost the most

Free inspection as the only offer

It brings volume and very few contracts. An offer about the roof itself, with warranty and financing, attracts homeowners who are ready to replace.

Supplier and job searches left open

Roofing has a large trade audience searching for materials and work. Those clicks cost money and never become contracts.

No reserve budget for storms

When a storm hits, a fixed budget runs out in hours. A reserve, set before the season, keeps the ads live in the week that matters.

Inspections booked in a minute, estimates followed up until the homeowner decides, and storm-season leads that never sit in an inbox.

Questions owners ask

How much should a roofing company spend on ads?

Roofing sits in the home services category, where the 2026 average is about $91 per lead, and a contract usually takes several leads. At the average, $4,000 a month brings roughly 44 leads. I usually start roofers at $1,500 or more on Google, with room to increase after a storm, and $1,000 or more on Meta for replacements.

Are Local Services Ads good for roofers?

Often, as a steady base. You pay per lead and get the Google Guaranteed badge at the top. Your position depends on your bid, your reviews and how fast you answer, so a company that answers in minutes and asks for reviews after every job gets more out of it.

Can roofing ads mention insurance claims in Florida?

Yes, with conditions. An ad that encourages homeowners to contact you about a roof damage claim must carry the disclosures in section 489.147 about the deductible and insurance fraud, in type large enough to read. Offering anything of value for an inspection or a claim is prohibited. Many roofers simply leave claims out of the ads and talk about them in person.

Should we advertise free roof inspections?

They work for volume, not always for contracts. A free inspection offer needs a few questions in the form, like the age of the roof and whether there is visible damage, so your team spends its time on real replacements. And in Florida, the inspection can’t come with a gift or a deductible offer.

Do Meta ads work for roofing companies?

For replacements, yes. Many homeowners know their roof is getting old before it leaks. Meta’s housing rules limit targeting for repair ads, and financing offers fall under the financial products category, so the audience is broad and the ad has to do the qualifying.

How do you track a contract signed weeks after the click?

The lead is saved with its ad source, and when the contract is signed, the outcome is sent back to Google. Google accepts these offline outcomes for clicks up to 90 days old, which covers most roofing sales. You see cost per signed contract, not just cost per lead.
